Casablanca Port of Call Guide

A half-day private tour from the port is the most practical way to see Casablanca. Expect to be met by a driver and guide right outside the terminal. You’ll typically visit the Hassan II Mosque (exterior and sometimes interior if timing works), drive through the old Medina, stop at the Central Market, pass by Rick’s Café, and finish with a look at the corniche and Ain Diab beach area. The tour moves at a steady pace; you’ll spend more time in the car than walking. It’s not a deeply immersive cultural experience but gives you a decent overview of the city in 4–5 hours.

Best time is spring (March–May) or fall (October–November) when it’s warm but not brutally hot. Summer can be 35°C+ with humidity that makes walking around uncomfortable. Expect to pay around $90–$160 per person for a private half-day tour depending on group size; solo travelers or couples pay toward the higher end. Larger groups or shared tours drop closer to $60–80.

Tip: Prioritize the Hassan II Mosque and a proper walk through the Central Market. Skip the fake “Rick’s Café” unless you’re a big Casablanca movie fan — it’s a tourist trap. Wear modest clothing for the mosque (knees and shoulders covered) and bring small bills for restroom tips and bottled water.
