The Royal Palace isn't open to the public so any tour only lets you see the exterior, the grand gates, manicured gardens, and the high surrounding walls. Expect a drive-by photo stop that lasts 15-20 minutes as part of a larger half-day city tour that usually includes the Hassan II Mosque, the old medina, and Habous quarter. The palace itself feels impressive from a distance but you won't go inside or get close to the buildings. It's more about saying you've seen one of Morocco's four royal residences than a deep cultural experience.
Best time to visit is spring (March-May) or autumn (October-November) when the weather is mild and the gardens look their greenest. Summers are brutally hot and not worth it. Expect to pay around $40-70 per person for a half-day guided tour from your hotel or the port that includes transport and a local guide. Private tours for two or more push toward the higher end.
Tip: Choose a small-group tour that combines the palace with the medina and Habous market; that's the most efficient use of your time. Skip it entirely if you're short on days in Casablanca or not interested in royal architecture from behind a gate - the Hassan II Mosque offers far more substance for your visit.
