Should You Do a Segway Tour in Paris?

Expect a fun, slightly silly way to cover a surprising amount of ground without getting exhausted. Most tours last 2–2.5 hours and glide past the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Seine bridges, and a handful of other big sights while a guide gives decent historical context through headsets. You’ll spend the first 15–20 minutes in a training session on a quiet square learning to brake, turn, and not look like a tourist who’s about to fall off. After that it’s mostly smooth riding on bike paths and closed areas. It’s genuinely easier than it looks, but you do need decent balance and the ability to stand for the full duration.

Best time is spring (April–June) or early fall (September–October) when the weather is mild and crowds are manageable. Summer can be hot and sweaty on the machine; winter is cold, wet, and many tours get canceled. Expect to pay around $70–110 per person depending on group size and exact length. Private tours push toward the higher end.

Tip: Choose a small-group tour (8 people max) that focuses on either the Right Bank or Left Bank rather than one that tries to race between both. Skip anything that promises “secret spots”—the real value is seeing the major monuments quickly and painlessly while learning a bit of context. Wear flat shoes and bring a light jacket; helmets are provided.
