Snuba gives you 20-30 minutes underwater breathing through a long hose connected to a tank on a raft above you. No heavy scuba gear, no certification needed. In Los Cabos most trips go to Pelican Rock where the water is clear, you’ll see tropical fish, rays, and sometimes small sharks or sea lions. The guide stays close and does most of the work; you mostly follow and breathe. The whole outing lasts about 90 minutes including gearing up, a short boat ride, and the actual snuba time. It’s a good middle ground if you want more than snorkeling but aren’t ready for full scuba.
Best time is May through October when the water is warmest (75-85°F) and visibility is often 30-60 feet. December to March can be colder and choppier, though you might see whales on the boat ride. Expect to pay around $90–$140 per person depending on group size, inclusions, and whether they add snorkel time or photos. Small groups of four or fewer feel much better than the bigger boats.
Pick a morning tour to avoid afternoon wind and crowds. Skip the upsells for photos or “premium” equipment unless you really want them; the standard gear is fine. If you get motion sick on boats, take something beforehand because the raft can bob around while you’re underwater.
