A day at Kennedy Space Center feels like a solid mix of museum, theme-park ride, and working spaceport. Expect to spend 6–9 hours on site walking through rocket gardens, seeing real flown spacecraft, and trying the Shuttle Launch Experience simulator that gives you a surprisingly convincing sense of a launch. The bus tour to the Apollo/Saturn V center is the highlight for most people; it gets you close to the massive historic launch pads and offers the best photo ops. It’s educational without being dry, but it’s also a lot of walking in the Florida sun.
Best time is January–April when it’s cooler and crowds are lighter. Summer is brutal with heat, afternoon thunderstorms, and long lines. Expect to pay around $80–$160 per adult depending on whether you just want basic entry with transport from Orlando or add a small-group tour, lunch with an astronaut, or the more exclusive NASA behind-the-scenes pass. Kids are cheaper but still not cheap.
Honest tip: take the early bus from Orlando so you reach the center right at opening; the queues for the bus tour and simulator grow fast. Skip the overpriced dining upgrade unless you really want the astronaut meet-and-greet—grab a quick bite at the food court instead and use the saved time to see the Atlantis exhibit twice.
