Expect a relaxed 2–2.5 hour sail leaving from Port Olímpic. The boat heads south along the coast so you watch the sun drop behind the city skyline and the Sagrada Família in the distance. It's genuinely pretty — the light on the water and buildings turns golden then pink — but it's not a wilderness experience. You'll share the boat with 10–30 other people; some groups are chatty, others just sip drinks and take photos. The motion is gentle unless the wind picks up. Drinks and light snacks are usually included; don't expect a full meal.
The best time is late May through early October when the sun sets after 8 pm and the evenings stay warm. June–August is peak season with longer days and busier boats; shoulder months (May and September) often give you better light and fewer crowds. From November to March the sun sets too early for most operators to run a proper evening cruise. Expect to pay around €45–€75 per person depending on the boat size, whether it's catamaran or monohull, and how many drinks are included.
Pick a mid-sized sailing catamaran if you want space to move around and fewer people; they're more stable and comfortable. Skip the cheapest big party boats if you want something calmer — they can feel more like floating bars. Bring a light jacket even in summer; it gets surprisingly cool once the sun drops and you're on the water.
