Yarkon Park offers one of the best ways to see a big slice of Tel Aviv. You rent a bike near the western end by the port area and can ride for miles along the river on mostly flat, paved paths. Expect a mix of open green spaces, shady sections, people jogging, families picnicking, and views that range from pleasant to slightly industrial depending how far east you go. The paths are shared so you’ll need to watch for pedestrians and scooters, especially on weekends. A round trip of 10–15 km feels like a solid afternoon outing without being exhausting.
Best time is spring or autumn when it’s warm but not punishingly hot. Summer rides work only if you start early (before 9am) or late afternoon. Expect to pay around $12–22 for a basic bike for a few hours; tandems and e-bikes cost more. Bring water and sunscreen—there are a few kiosks but they’re spaced out.
Tip: pick a regular hybrid bike unless you really need the motor on an e-bike; the paths are easy. Skip riding all the way to the eastern end of the park—it gets less maintained and the return trip feels long. Lock the bike properly when you stop for photos or snacks.
