Visitors climb 199 steps up the original cast-iron spiral stairway of the 1859 Cape May Lighthouse to reach a viewpoint 156 feet above the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Interpretive panels throughout the lighthouse and grounds tell stories of lighthouse keepers and the site's maritime history, while the Oil House contains a fully accessible museum and visitor orientation center.
