Sugarloaf Mountain is a 396-meter granite peak situated on a peninsula at the mouth of Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro, named for its resemblance to traditional refined sugarloaf. Visitors ascend via a glass-walled cable car that travels 1,400 meters between peaks, offering 360° panoramic views of the city and harbor from the summit. The mountain is also known for its rock climbing routes, which form part of one of the world's largest urban climbing areas with over 270 routes.
