
Tijuca National Park is an urban national park in Rio de Janeiro's mountains, claimed to be the world's largest urban forest covering 39.58 square kilometers of secondary Atlantic Forest with over 230 animal and bird species. Visitors hike numerous trails to see attractions including the Christ the Redeemer statue, Pedra da Gávea peak, waterfalls, and chapels, with the park receiving over 3.3 million visitors annually.
