Conquer Dominica's legendary Boiling Lake — the world's second-largest boiling lake — on a guided full-day volcanic hike through the Valley of Desolation. Raw, primordial, and utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
The 7–8 hour round-trip hike ascends through ancient rainforest, along ridge-lines with panoramic views, and into the surreal Valley of Desolation with its hissing vents and sulfur pools. The reward is the cloud-wreathed Boiling Lake itself — a churning, grey-blue cauldron of superheated water. Your guide provides deep insight into Dominica's volcanic geology and endemic flora throughout. Pack serious stamina: this is a challenging 14 km trail with steep sections that demands proper hiking shoes.
