What to expect
Your driver takes the old serpentine road with 25 numbered switchbacks, each turn revealing a wider view down onto Kotor's fjord until the whole bay is visible at once. At the summit you'll climb to Njegoš's black granite mausoleum for 360-degree views over three countries on clear days. In Njeguši village a family producer walks you through their smoking house before a seated tasting of prosciutto, cheese, and honey brandy.

The road has no guardrails and is not for those uneasy on cliffside drives; allow a full 5-6 hours so check this against your ship's all-aboard time; road can close in winter fog
