A private skipper runs you out past the old Austro-Hungarian submarine tunnels to swim inside the Blue Cave's glowing water before the midday flotilla arrives.
What to expect
You'll depart early from Kotor's marina, skimming past the abandoned Austro-Hungarian submarine base carved into the cliffside at Zanjic. Reaching the Blue Cave before the crowds, you'll swim inside where sunlight refracts through the water into an intense electric blue. Your skipper then takes you past Mamula Island's fortress and a quiet cove for a second swim stop before returning.
Good to know
Swimsuits and towels essential; best light in the cave is 9-11am, so request an early departure; water can be cool even in summer
