What to expect
Zodiacs idle just offshore of a rookery, engines cut for long stretches so the only sound is penguin calls and ice cracking. Guides identify species, point out predator-prey dynamics between skuas and chicks, and hold position for photography. Trips run 60-90 minutes and often include a slow cruise along a berg wall on the way back.
