Snorkel the Natural Pool & Sunken Wreck off Aroma

A shallow, glass-clear 'natural pool' between islets where a small plane wreck and coral heads sit in waist-to-shoulder-deep water — one of the most photographed but genuinely worthwhile stops in San Blas.

What to expect

You wade and float in impossibly clear, warm shallow water over sand and coral, with the rusted skeleton of a small plane visible just beneath the surface — an easy, unhurried swim rather than a deep dive. Your captain times the visit to avoid the midday convergence of tour boats. Lunch is grilled fish and patacones served on a nearby island, eaten with your feet in the sand.

Good to know

Water shoes help on the coral-sand bottom; bring reef-safe sunscreen since this is a fragile, shallow ecosystem. Best done in the morning for both light and lower crowds.
