Small-Boat Snorkel with Wild Sea Turtles, Anse Noire

Slip into calm water off a black-sand cove where green turtles feed just meters offshore, guided by a local skipper who reads the currents and the turtles' moods.

What to expect

You board a small traditional yole at Anse Dufour or Anse Noire and motor a few minutes to a sheltered bay. The captain cuts the engine and lets you drift with mask and fins beside turtles that are genuinely unbothered by quiet swimmers. Afterward there's usually time to relax on the black-sand beach with a rum punch before heading back.

Good to know

Book the earliest departure (usually 8-9am) for the clearest water and fewest boats; bring reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes for the pebbly entry.
