A behind-the-scenes visit with a Safranbolu coppersmith and a saffron grower, watching centuries-old crafts made by hand in workshops rarely open to visitors.
What to expect
You'll be welcomed into a coppersmith's small workshop in the historic Arasta bazaar to watch hand-hammering techniques passed through generations, then visit a family that grows and processes the region's famed saffron, seeing the delicate hand-harvest process explained firsthand. There's time to try your hand at simple copper work and taste saffron tea. It closes with a private walk through the caravanserai courtyard once used by Silk Road traders.
Good to know
Requires the same transfer time as the Safranbolu day trip — best combined with, not added onto, the main old town visit given drive time from Amasra.
