You'll be let through the drawbridge gate before opening hours, with the sea breeze and no other visitors on the bastions. The custodian or guide points out the star-shaped fortifications built after the 1480 siege and the views stretching to Albania on a clear day. It's a fifteen-minute walk from the old town center.
