What to expect
A short scramble over tussac grass brings you to a rocky cove where southern sea lions and fur seals haul out, largely undisturbed since so few visitors detour this way. Gentoo penguins waddle between the cove and their inland colony. It's the New Island a naturalist would actually choose to linger on.
