Perched 430 metres above the Med on a near-vertical crag, Èze is the most dramatically beautiful medieval village on the entire Côte d'Azur. Combine cobblestone lanes, a cacti garden with panoramic views, and an artisan perfume creation at the legendary Fragonard distillery.
What to expect
The drive up the Moyenne Corniche alone is cinematic — hairpin bends, limestone cliffs, and sudden flashes of cobalt sea. In the village, your private guide leads you through vaulted passageways lined with honey-coloured stone, past art galleries and artisan workshops, to the summit Jardin Exotique where towering cacti frame a view that stretches from Corsica to the Italian Alps on a clear day. At Fragonard's Èze distillery, a guided tour reveals the ancient art of Grasse-style perfumery, and a personalised 'nose test' lets you identify the floral and citrus notes in the house's signature Riviera scents.
Good to know
Èze is approximately 15 km from Monaco port — around 25 minutes by private car. The village is pedestrian only and involves steep cobblestone climbs; flat shoes essential. Book the private guide well in advance in high season. Half-day tour easily returns before a 6 PM all-aboard.
