Hike to Point Udall — the easternmost point in the United States — for a breathtaking sunrise panorama, then snorkel the protected East End Marine Park's turquoise shallows. Remote, raw, and completely crowd-free.
What to expect
Your private guide collects you from port and drives across St. Croix's verdant interior, past sugar mill ruins and mahogany forests, to Point Udall's dramatic cliff-top monument — the first place in the USA to greet each new day. The panoramic sweep of the Atlantic and Caribbean merging below is extraordinary. From there, descend to the East End Marine Park for a secluded snorkel in waters protected since 2003: elkhorn coral, green sea turtles, and sergeant majors in abundance. Return through Christiansted for a rum tasting or coffee before heading back to port.
Good to know
Point Udall is approximately 45 min from Frederiksted pier. Arrange an early departure to reach the east end at sunrise. The full half-day comfortably fits a 5 PM all-aboard. Confirm your guide brings snorkel gear; wear reef-safe sunscreen only, as the Marine Park enforces it.
