Maine Lobster Boat Experience: Haul Traps with a Working Captain

Join a working Maine lobsterman aboard his traditional wooden boat, haul traps in the wild waters of Casco Bay, and learn the centuries-old art and culture of lobstering — the most authentic ocean experience in New England.

What to expect

Step aboard Lucky Catch's beautifully maintained wooden lobster boat at DiMillo's Marina — a short walk from the cruise pier — and head into Casco Bay's cold, sparkling waters with Captain Tom and his sternman. Guests are invited to help bait and haul traps, hold live lobsters, and sort the catch just as Maine lobstermen have done for generations. Captain Tom narrates the ecology of Casco Bay, the strict regulations that protect the fishery, and the colorful culture of Maine lobstering with genuine passion and humor. You may purchase any lobsters caught for steaming on board or back at the dock.
