Perch on the edge of a 70-metre Indian Ocean cliff at Bali's most dramatic temple as the sun melts into the sea, then watch 50 bare-chested men chant the hypnotic Kecak fire dance by torchlight. Pure, goosebump Bali — utterly unmissable.
What to expect
Your private car collects you at Benoa port and winds south along the Bukit Peninsula to Uluwatu. You walk the forest path — home to playful macaque monkeys — to the temple's outer terraces with your guide contextualising Balinese Hindu ritual. At dusk you take your reserved seats for the open-air Kecak performance, the chanting chorus building to a fire-leaping crescendo against a blazing sky. The return journey is relaxed, timed carefully around your all-aboard.
Good to know
Performance begins at 18:00; allow ~90 min drive each way. Best for overnight or late all-aboard calls. Temple sarong rental included on-site. Book at least 48 hrs ahead as private slots fill fast in high season (Jul–Aug).
