Haul enormous King Crabs from the icy waters of the Barents Sea, then feast on them fresh aboard a traditional vessel. This is an only-in-the-Arctic experience that blends hands-on adventure with an extraordinary seafood meal.
What to expect
Board a traditional Norwegian fishing boat in Honningsvåg harbour and set out into the cold, clear waters of the Barents Sea. Working alongside your skipper-guide, you haul up heavy traps containing the spectacular Red King Crab — legs spanning nearly a metre. Back on deck, the crabs are cooked immediately in seawater and served with crusty bread and drawn butter in the open Arctic air. The skipper shares the history of how this Russian immigrant species transformed the local fishing economy — a story as rich as the meal itself.
