Paddle a sea kayak through the ice-flecked, mirror-calm waters of Qaqortoq Fjord, gliding past icebergs, seal colonies, and dramatic Arctic coastline. An expert-guided small-group adventure that places you at water level in one of the planet's last great wildernesses.
What to expect
After a brief, thorough safety and paddling briefing, you launch from the harbour and settle into the rhythm of the fjord. The silence is extraordinary — just paddle strokes, distant ice groans, and the occasional splash of a surfacing seal. Guides position the group to drift close to bergy bits and small bergs, their reflections doubling in the glassy water. Seabirds, Arctic terns, and the odd circling white-tailed eagle punctuate the sky. The surrounding mountains descend steeply to the water, making every stroke feel like paddling through a painting. It is meditative, thrilling, and deeply memorable.
