PhanTECHNIKUM: Immersive Industrial & Technology Museum

Wismar's spectacular PhanTECHNIKUM is one of Germany's most hands-on technology and industrial heritage museums — 10,000 sq m of interactive machines, full-scale ships, steam engines, and extraordinary exhibits that delight curious adults and families alike.

What to expect

The PhanTECHNIKUM occupies a series of vast, beautifully converted industrial halls and covers everything from historic shipbuilding and steam power to aviation and digital technology. Full-scale vessels, working model railways, and original steam engines command the main halls, while interactive science stations let even the most reluctant museum-goer become genuinely absorbed. The shipbuilding section is particularly extraordinary given Wismar's own maritime heritage. Café on site for a mid-visit coffee break.
