Southern Gothenburg Archipelago: Private Island-Hopping by Boat

Glide through a labyrinth of wild granite islands, fishing villages, and glittering sea channels on a private guided boat tour of the Southern Gothenburg Archipelago — Sweden's most breathtaking coastal escape.

What to expect

Your skipper navigates a mosaic of over 20 islands southeast of the city, pausing at charming harbours where lobster boats bob in the swell. On Donsö or Styrsö, stroll cobbled lanes between painted timber cottages and sample shrimp bought directly from the quay. The return sail at golden hour, with the sun low over the Kattegat, is pure Scandinavia at its finest.

Good to know

Public ferry departs from Saltholmen terminal (~25 min by tram from city centre). Private charters depart from the cruise port area — confirm exact pickup with Strömma. Allow a minimum 4 hours; a full day is ideal. Book private charters well in advance. All-aboard time is typically 17:00–18:00, so confirm your ship's schedule.
