Wander 175 hectares of one of Europe's most celebrated botanical gardens — ranked #2 on TripAdvisor's Gothenburg attractions — on a private expert-guided tour through ancient woodland, rock gardens, and rare global plant collections.
What to expect
Your specialist guide leads you along winding paths through the spectacular rock garden — a cascade of alpine plants over sculpted granite — before entering the tranquil Japanese glade, serene and perfectly composed. The greenhouses shelter rare tropical and Mediterranean collections. In late spring and summer, the rhododendron valley erupts in extraordinary colour. The sense of space, beauty, and calm is profound — a world away from the city, yet just minutes from it.
Good to know
Located in the Änggården district, approximately 30 minutes by taxi from the cruise terminal. Book private guided tours in advance directly via the garden's website or by phone. Outdoor areas are free to enter and open daily year-round; greenhouses have a separate admission fee. Best in May–June for peak blooms. Allow 2–3 hours. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
