A small-group zodiac expedition deep into the wilderness fjords ringing Longyearbyen in search of polar bears, Arctic foxes, walrus colonies, beluga whales and Svalbard reindeer in their true habitat.
What to expect
Depart Longyearbyen in a fast, open zodiac and push into the outer reaches of Adventfjorden and beyond, scanning ice edges and snowfields for Svalbard's legendary wildlife. Polar bear encounters are never guaranteed — that is the point: this is raw, unscripted wilderness. Walrus haul-outs, seabird cliffs thick with little auks, and the silence of an Arctic fjord between sightings are themselves magnificent. A warm packed lunch is served on the ice — a memory in itself.
