Dolphin-Watching & Coastal Wildlife Cruise, Moray Firth

The Moray Firth is home to the UK's largest resident population of bottlenose dolphins — some of the biggest in the world — plus harbour porpoises, grey seals, and abundant seabirds. A dedicated wildlife boat offers a privileged front-row seat to nature at its most exhilarating.

What to expect

Based in Inverness (1.5 hrs from Aberdeen) or reachable via private coastal transfer, Dolphin Spirit's RIBs and wildlife vessels head into the sheltered Firth where dolphins bow-ride, breach, and socialise alongside the boat. Qualified marine biologists narrate every sighting with precision. On a good day, the leaping acrobatics of these massive bottlenoses — some over 12 feet long — are genuinely jaw-dropping. Seals haul out on sandbanks just metres from the bow.

Good to know

Departures run April–October from Inverness Harbour; combine with a private transfer and a visit to Inverness or Culloden Battlefield for a full luxury day out. Book the boat directly online and secure a front-facing seat. Waterproof jacket and layers essential even in summer. Confirm all-aboard time allows for the 3-hour round transfer.
