Ascend Penang Hill by funicular to 833 m above the Strait of Malacca, then lose yourself in The Habitat — a pristine primary rainforest reserve with a treetop walkway and 360° panoramic tower. Bucket-list views, world-class biodiversity.
What to expect
Board the steep-gradient funicular railway at the foot of Penang Hill — a 5-minute ride through jungle-clad slopes. At the summit, a naturalist guide leads you along elevated boardwalks through 130-million-year-old rainforest. The Curtis Crest tower emerges above the canopy with a 360° sweep: George Town's colonial skyline, the Penang Bridge, and the Andaman Sea on clear days. Birdlife is extraordinary at altitude.
Good to know
The Habitat opens at 9:00 am; pre-book entry online to avoid peak queues. Allow 3–4 hours for the full experience including funicular.
