The Rivière Langevin valley culminates in one of Réunion's most beautiful natural pools — turquoise water beneath a 30-metre waterfall draped in tropical vegetation. A private canyoning guide takes you down the canyon's cascades and natural water slides for pure, visceral joy.
What to expect
Equipped with wetsuit, helmet, and harness, you enter the canyon above the main cascade and work your way through a series of natural toboggan chutes, short abseils, and crystal-clear plunge pools. The walls close in overhead, blocking out the sky, and the water is cool and achingly clear. At the Grand Galet pool you swim beneath the main falls — the force of the water on your shoulders is something you'll feel for days. The drive through the Langevin valley past vanilla plantations and lychee groves is itself a scenic bonus.
