Hop aboard Durban Tourism's iconic open-top Ricksha Bus to sweep through the city's most vivid neighbourhoods, then plunge into the aromatic labyrinth of Victoria Street Market — the greatest Indian spice bazaar in sub-Saharan Africa.
What to expect
Board the distinctive open-top Ricksha Bus at the beachfront terminus for a hop-on, hop-off circuit of Durban's highlights — the Golden Mile, City Hall, the Indian Quarter, and the Botanic Gardens. Disembark at Victoria Street Market to wander a dazzling maze of 180 stalls piled with Durban curry spices, saffron, basmati, tropical fruits, and hand-carved curios. Lunch on a legendary Durban bunny chow — a hollowed-out loaf of bread filled with fragrant mutton or bean curry — at one of the market's original eateries. The bus returns you to the beachfront in time for a sunset stroll along the Golden Mile.
