Casela Nature Parks: Lions, Zip-lines & Rhino Safari

Mauritius's most celebrated wildlife and adventure park offers walking with lions, rhino safaris on open 4x4s, and the island's longest zip-line circuit. Absolutely unmissable for those craving both wildlife and adrenaline.

What to expect

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rempart mountain range, Casela spans 25 hectares of savanna-style parkland. The lion walk — led by expert handlers — sees you stroll alongside magnificent sub-adult lions at arm's length, an experience that never fails to stop the heart. The rhino safari aboard open 4x4s brings you face-to-face with white rhinos in a vast enclosure. Thrill-seekers can add the zip-line circuit soaring over gorges, or the Giant Swings above the canyon for an extra charge.

Good to know

Book lion walk and rhino safari slots online in advance — they are strictly limited daily. Allow a minimum of 4–5 hours; a full day is better. Casela is approximately 45 minutes by private taxi from Port Louis (MUR 800–1,200 return, approx. USD 18–26). Bring sun protection and closed-toe shoes for the lion walk.
