Step aboard a beautiful sailing vessel and glide across the shimmering Argolic Gulf, anchoring in secret coves for swimming and snorkelling, with a generous spread of local food and drinks served on deck. Nafplio from the sea is an entirely different — and utterly captivating — perspective.
What to expect
You depart from Nafplio's harbour directly beneath the Bourtzi island fortress, sailing past Akronafplia and along a rugged coastline of hidden bays. The skipper anchors in a clear-water cove where you can snorkel over Posidonia meadows or simply float in the warm sea. Back on board, the spread of fresh Greek mezze — olives, feta, grilled octopus, local wine and cold beer — arrives with the best view in town: Palamidi shimmering above the rooftops. It is the most relaxed and luxurious half-day you can spend in port.
Good to know
Departures are typically morning or early afternoon; the half-day format fits comfortably within a port call. The boat departs from Nafplio harbour, within walking distance of the cruise tender or dock. Book in advance in summer — small groups sell out quickly. Bring a towel, swimwear, and sunscreen.
