Step inside a working Costa Rican hacienda to discover how coffee, cacao, and sugar cane are grown, harvested, and transformed — then taste the results in a guided tasting led by the farmers themselves. This is farm-to-palate storytelling at its most authentic and delicious.
What to expect
A comfortable vehicle collects you from the pier and drives 45 minutes into the lush hinterland behind Puntarenas. At the hacienda, the morning unfolds across three stations: the coffee nursery and roasting room (with a proper cupping), the cacao grove where you crack pods and grind your own chocolate, and the traditional trapiche (sugar cane press) where raw cane is pressed into fresh guarapo juice before your eyes. A generous tasting spread — including house-made bonbons — rounds out the experience.
