Zip around the entire 5km² island on a whisper-quiet electric scooter, discovering hidden coves, panoramic viewpoints, and sleepy hamlets entirely at your own pace. The most exhilarating and freeing way to unlock every corner of Terre-de-Haut.
What to expect
Pick up your electric scooter steps from the dock and unfurl the island's one road network like a ribbon before you. Cruise past the colourful harbour, climb the switchbacks toward Fort Napoléon for morning views, then descend the far side to the secluded Anse Rodrigue cove beach before it fills. Wind back through the village for a midday tourment d'amour, then head out to the eastern bluffs where the Atlantic churns against black volcanic rocks — a dramatic contrast to the calm Caribbean side. The entire circuit takes as little or as long as you like.
Good to know
No licence required for electric scooters up to 50cc in Guadeloupe, but check current regulations at rental. Helmets provided and mandatory. Collect your scooter first thing — rental stock is limited on busy port days, so booking ahead is strongly advised. Fill up time generously before all-aboard.
