Step inside Fowey's own artisan distillery for a behind-the-scenes tour of the stills and a tutored tasting of small-batch Cornish gins — crafted using local botanicals including sea buckthorn, kelp and Cornish spring water. A convivial, genuinely local experience.
What to expect
The Fowey Distillery occupies a beautifully converted space in the heart of the town, a short stroll from the harbour. Your host — often a founder or head distiller — walks you through the copper pot still, the maceration process and the art of botanical selection unique to Cornwall's coastal terroir. The tasting is guided and unhurried: three to four expressions, paired with tasting notes and stories, culminating in a favourite tipple enjoyed at leisure. Bottles are available for purchase directly from the distillery, making for an exceptional and personal souvenir.
Good to know
Sessions must be pre-booked directly via the distillery website — spaces are limited and fill quickly on cruise days. The distillery is a 5-minute walk from Fowey Town Quay. Tours typically run 60–90 minutes, leaving plenty of time before all-aboard. Not suitable for non-drinkers or under-18s.
