Join a professional Kimberley landscape photographer on a private guided shoot through the gorge, falls and tidal flats — learning to capture the extraordinary light, colour and scale of one of Australia's last great wildernesses.
What to expect
Your photographer-guide collects you by private Zodiac at the optimal tidal moment and positions the craft to catch the falls backlit by the morning sun, coaching you on exposure settings for the extreme contrast between dark gorge walls and bright cascade. From the water, you'll move to a low-tide tidal flat where the reflections of the banded cliff face create mirror-image compositions that define the Kimberley aesthetic. A final golden-hour session from a plateau vantage captures the river snaking toward the Timor Sea in long, warm light. A 1-hour in-field editing review follows back at the vessel before departure.
Good to know
Bring your own camera equipment (all formats welcome; phones equally coached). Limit of 4 guests per session to ensure genuine one-on-one coaching time. Sessions are tide- and light-dependent; the guide will confirm the exact departure window 24 hours in advance. Pre-book at least 60 days ahead — APT Kimberley photography sessions are consistently oversubscribed.
