Wind through the fragrant rose-growing village of Agros and neighbouring Commandaria wine estates for a deeply Cypriot sensory journey — hand-distilled rose water, artisan loukoumades, aged Commandaria and fiery Zivania all poured in one exceptional half-day.
What to expect
Your private guide collects you from the port and drives you into the Pitsilia highlands to Agros — the 'rose village' of Cyprus, celebrated for its Damascene roses harvested each May and distilled into perfume, rose water and liqueur. You'll visit a working rose distillery before heading to a neighbouring Commandaria estate, where the winemaker explains the ancient solera-style production method over a structured tasting of multiple vintages. A visit to an artisan shop for handmade spoon sweets and local spirits rounds off a truly authentic afternoon in the Cypriot highlands.
Good to know
Agros is approximately 65 km from Limassol port — allow around 70–80 minutes each way through mountain roads. A private vehicle is essential; this route is not easily accessible by public transport. Pre-book your private guide well in advance. The rose harvest season (May) offers the most immersive experience, but the distillery and tastings operate year-round.
