Príncipe Sport Fishing: Blue Marlin & Yellowfin in the Gulf of Guinea

Cast off from Santo António on a private sportfishing charter into the extraordinarily rich waters of the Gulf of Guinea — renowned for blue marlin, wahoo and giant yellowfin tuna. One of the world's most underrated big-game fishing grounds.

What to expect

You board a well-equipped game fishing boat at dawn and head offshore to the seamounts that concentrate bait and predators in remarkable numbers. The captain and mate rig trolling lures and live bait as the volcanic silhouette of Príncipe fades astern. Strikes come fast in these untouched waters — blue marlin exceeding 200 kg have been caught and released here. Cold drinks, fresh fruit and light snacks are served throughout.
