Step beyond the beach and into a living Aneityumese village, where elders share kastom ceremonies, traditional medicine, and centuries-old craft. One of the Pacific's most authentic cultural encounters, steps from the shoreline.
What to expect
A local guide walks you through the island's interior to the traditional village, narrating the history of the Aneityumese people who have inhabited this archipelago for over 3,000 years. You'll see thatched family homes, the community school, and the dispensary, and be welcomed into a demonstration of traditional weaving, natural medicine, and food preparation using local root crops and coconut. The experience closes with an optional sit-down kastom lunch featuring freshly prepared island foods. The warmth and candour of the community is consistently what moves guests most.
