What to expect
A 4x4 transfer whisks you along São Vicente's volcanic southern shore to the calm bay at São Pedro, where resident green turtles feed on sea grass year-round. Your PADI-aware guide enters the water with you, positioning the group at a respectful distance before the turtles glide in of their own accord. After the snorkel you sun-dry on a near-deserted black-sand beach with chilled local beer from the cooler. The transfer returns you to the port with time to explore Mindelo's waterfront.
