What to expect
Your private 4x4 departs Mindelo's waterfront and climbs through the Parque Natural Monte Verde, passing cloud-forest patches that seem impossibly lush against the island's arid flanks. At the summit, mist rolls in and out theatrically, framing the bay of Porto Grande far below like a postcard. The guide sets up a small picnic with local cheeses, papaya and Cape Verdean coffee at the top. The return route dips down through traditional villages and past Laginha Beach, São Vicente's most beautiful urban shore.

Morning departures recommended for best visibility — cloud cover thickens by midday. Duration: approx. 3–4 hours. Light jacket recommended at the summit (temperature drops significantly). Can be combined with a Mindelo city walk on return.
