Trek the legendary Sentiero Azzurro — Cinque Terre's iconic coastal Blue Trail — with an expert naturalist guide. Dramatic clifftop paths, wild macchia, and postcard sea views stitch all five villages together in one unforgettable traverse.
What to expect
Set out early from Riomaggiore and follow the cliff-edge path northward, the Ligurian Sea shimmering hundreds of metres below. The trail between Corniglia and Vernazza is among the most breathtaking in the Mediterranean — fragrant with rosemary and sea salt, punctuated by ancient dry-stone walls draped in cactus and wild capers. Your guide paces the group to allow time in each village: a focaccia stop in Corniglia, a swim break at Monterosso's sandy beach. The Train Card ensures a comfortable return by rail when legs are ready to rest.
Good to know
Some trail sections (notably Riomaggiore–Manarola Via dell'Amore) may require advance timed-entry booking; check the park website before departure. Wear proper hiking shoes and carry water. The full traverse is approximately 12 km; a guide can tailor a shorter section if preferred. Cards purchased online at cinqueterre.eu.com.
