Roar out into the Helgeland archipelago aboard a high-speed RIB to witness Europe's largest eagle hunting along the coastline — a raw, exhilarating wildlife encounter in one of Norway's most biodiverse coastal regions.
What to expect
Suited up in a warm expedition suit, you launch from a small harbour and accelerate out into the island-studded waters of Helgeland. Your eagle-specialist guide reads the sky and shoreline expertly, cutting the engine at exactly the right moment as a white-tailed eagle — wingspan up to 2.5 metres — swoops low over the water. Seals, otters, and porpoise are frequent companions. The return journey at speed across open water is a thrill in itself.
Good to know
Expedition suits provided; wear comfortable layers underneath. Tours depart from Nesna or local Sandnessjøen area harbours — factor in a short transfer from the cruise pier. Booking recommended well in advance in summer. Check current schedules and confirm availability via Visit Helgeland.
