Blast across Skjálfandi Bay in a high-powered RIB to meet humpbacks up close and circle the puffin colonies of Lundey Island. This is Iceland's whale-watching capital at full throttle — raw, exhilarating, and utterly unforgettable.
What to expect
Dressed head-to-toe in a thermal survival suit provided on board, you speed out into Skjálfandi Bay with an expert naturalist guide who reads whale behaviour in real time. Humpbacks are the star, regularly breaching and fluking within metres of the RIB. A detour to Lundey Island reveals thousands of Atlantic puffins nesting on the cliffs. The return run at speed across the bay, with the snow-capped Víknafjöll mountains as backdrop, is a photographer's dream.
