Glide across crystal-clear volcanic waters on a stand-up paddleboard with sea lions surfacing beside your board — the most intimate and active way to explore the Punta Pitt coastline, led by Galápagos' specialist SUP operator.
What to expect
After a safety and technique briefing in calm waters, the group paddles along the base of Punta Pitt's iron-oxide cliffs, peering down into gin-clear water at sea turtles and rays below. Sea lions are reliably playful and will follow boards for minutes at a time. The guide identifies nesting boobies on the cliffs above as you paddle — a dual land-and-sea wildlife experience unlike anything else in the archipelago.
Good to know
No prior SUP experience needed — the calm coves are ideal for beginners. Underwater cameras available for rent on the day; booking ahead recommended. Allow 5–6 hours. Reef-safe sunscreen is mandatory in the Galápagos Marine Reserve.
