Hike to San Cristóbal's iconic frigatebird overlook — the same viewpoint sketched by Darwin in 1835 — then snorkel in the crystal cove below with a resident colony of Galápagos sea lions. History, ecology, and adventure fused into one morning.
What to expect
The 2km trail from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno winds through dry Galápagos scrubland alive with lava lizards and mockingbirds, arriving at a clifftop panorama straight out of Darwin's journals. Magnificent and great frigatebirds wheel overhead in their hundreds. The descent leads directly to a protected cove where sea lions lounge on the pier and eagerly interact with snorkelers in knee-deep water.
