The classic, definitive Plaza Sur day tour led by an official Galápagos National Park naturalist — crystal snorkelling bays, cliffside drama, and wildlife so tame it practically poses for you. A UNESCO World Heritage island at its most vivid.
What to expect
A short, scenic crossing from Santa Cruz delivers you to Plaza Sur's famous wet landing, where sea lions act as your welcoming committee. Your National Park naturalist guide leads you along the cliffside trail, pointing out the spectacularly coloured sesuvium succulents that blaze red and orange against the black lava, and explaining the ecological quirks of the hybrid iguana. Snorkelling in the protected bay reveals Galápagos sea lions darting playfully around you, yellow-tailed surgeonfish, and the occasional sea turtle. A hot Ecuadorian lunch — ceviche, rice, and fresh fruit — is served on board before the return.
